Shipping on both stores is not the hard part. Shipping two experiences that feel equally considered is. Too many teams treat Android as a port of iOS — or the reverse — and users notice. At Maverick Codebase we keep one product definition and two native implementations that share intent, not pixels.

One product story, two native builds

Flows, copy, success metrics, and analytics events stay aligned. Layouts, navigation patterns, and system components stay native. That means an iPhone user gets a product that belongs on iOS, and an Android user never feels like they downloaded a second-class twin.

We lock the core journeys early: onboarding, the primary loop, empty states, errors, and the moment of value. Everything else is sequenced. Feature parity does not mean shipping every screen on the same calendar day — it means neither platform is left with a broken story.

The checklist we refuse to skip

  • Shared product brief: goals, metrics, and non-negotiable UX
  • Design tokens and components adapted per platform — not copy-pasted
  • Device matrix for mid-range phones, not only flagships
  • TestFlight and internal Play tracks before public release
  • Crash, ANR, and funnel monitoring in the first week after launch

Quality as a weekly habit

Quality dies when it is a phase at the end. We bake design review, accessibility passes, and store prep into the build cadence. Screenshots, privacy labels, permission copy, and release notes are treated as product surfaces — because they are.

If the Android build feels like a port, users will treat it like one — and leave.

What “done” looks like before you hit Submit

Both apps should complete the primary job without apology. Analytics should tell the same story with platform-aware events. Support docs and store listings should match what is actually in the build. And the team should know what will ship next, not just what launched today.

Want a dual-platform release that holds up after the launch week adrenaline fades? We will map the roadmap, build native, and keep the craft consistent across both stores.
